Red Cherry Shrimp was selectively bred for its red coloration, although they vary from a pale pink through to bright red color. The female have a curved underbelly and the male have a straight underbelly.
Red Cherry Shrimp are non-aggressive and naturally omnivores. They spend most of their time eating algae and biofilm but would also love fresh blanched veggies, leaf litter, frozen foods, algae pellets and other homemade or store-bought shrimp food.
Red Cherry Shrimp are hardy and adaptable in water condition. The recommended water temperature is from 72° to 78°F, pH range from 7.0 to 7.8 and water hardness should be in the range of 1 to 4 KH and 6 to 8 GH.
