Bandit Cory (Corydoras Metae) is a popular small catfish known for its distinct black band running from gill to gill, going over the top of the head, and covering both eyes like a mask. That’s why this fish is also dubbed as the Masked Cory. They are a very social species who thrive best in small groups. They are nocturnal feeders, meaning they are usually hiding during the day and actively looking for food at night.
Bandit Cory’s are fairly easy to care for, but they require a clean and good water quality as they are scaleless fish which makes them susceptible to diseases. Also, make sure to have a filter in your aquarium to maintain good water quality. They prefer aquariums with a soft sandy substrate as they bandit cory forages through the bottom of the tank looking for food. They will readily accept High-quality flake food, sinking pellets, or tablets. Brine Shrimp, daphnia, and dried or frozen bloodworms should also be included in their diet for the optimal health of this fish.
